Since the election of President Donald Trump, there has been an unholy alliance between the neoconservative and the left. It has been sad to watch, especially since the left calls itself anti-war.
The left and the neocons are slapping each other on the back on the Counterfeit News Network and MSNBC, declaring their disdain for Trump and calling for war against Russia.
It has been scary.
But out of everything that has happened in this alliance, a recent tweet from Paul Krugman takes the cake.
Here is what he tweeted about the neocons:
Many groups on the right have revealed their true moral emptiness under Trump: tax-cutters, evangelicals, conservative law types, etc.. But on the whole the neocons — the people responsible for the Iraq war — have turned out to have genuine principles. Credit where it’s due.

So, you can advocate for the biggest blunder in modern U.S. history, an invasion that killed thousands of U.S. troops and tens of thousands of citizens, destabilized a nation, but if you oppose Trump then all is forgiven.
You are now a principled person.
Sad!
But Krugman doesn’t know much about principles. This is a man who promoted and defended budget deficits for years, but then declared after the election that deficits matter again.
This brings up a question: Since Trump is literally Hitler, then what would happen if Hitler came back from the dead and declared his hatred for Trump? Would the left forgive him?
kevinbeck2015 says
The left already thinks exactly like Hitler did!
They wouldn’t just forgive him; they’d glamorize him, and declare that the Second Coming just happened.
And it was Paul Krugman the Witch Doctor who raised him from the dead.
