The Republicans claim to be fiscal hawks and want to rein in spending and slash the debt. During the eight-year throne of President Barack Obama, the GOP whined and moaned (rightfully so) about the debt. Unfortunately, since taking power, they haven’t done anything about it.
The Democrats, meanwhile, argue that debt is good to grow the economy. Why shouldn’t debt be 100% of the gross domestic product? Plus, they only pay minimal lip service to center Democrats genuinely concerned about the debt.
In the end, which presidents should you blame the most for the national debt?
This superb infographic from How Much provides a telling tale about the history of the $21 trillion debt. You can blame all the presidents of the last 30 years, and celebrate Presidents Warren Harding and Calvin Coolidge!

I blame Congress, they are the ones that vote the crap spending in each and every bill that they pass. If the Congress would just get a clue and cut all this unnecessary spending, over time we could move to a balanced budget.
