This is typically how an interview with Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) goes:
Interviewer: How are you going to pay your ambitious $40 trillion spending initiative?
AOC: Yeah, well, what about the space force?
Interviewer: Studies have shown that, even if you to raise tax rates on corporations and the wealthy, it would only yield x amount of dollars. What do you say about that?
AOC: Yeah, well, what about the corporate tax cuts?
Interviewer: Do you have any idea how you would pay for these what some say are socialist programs?
AOC: Yeah, well, what about the Pentagon?
While her interviews are always hilarious and cringing at the same time, they are a big waste of time. She does not delve into specifics, espouses vacuous polemics, and gives lengthy word salads.
You’ve seen one interview, you’ve seen them all.
The latest example is her sitdown interview with Anderson Cooper and “60 Minutes.”
When he asked her about the price-tag of her proposal, AOC replied with the same answer:
“We only ask how we pay for it on issues of housing, health care and education. How do we pay for it? With the same exact mechanisms that we pay for military increases for this Space Force. For all of these– ambitious policies.”

But who doesn’t ask the question of cost when it comes to militarism and space force? There are plenty of conservatives and libertarians who have tossed around the question.
AOC is here to stay, whether you like it or not. She will be a career politician who will run for president some day. She’s a pretty girl with the talent of touting talking points and memes. In this political climate, that’s enough to make you president.

AOC is just starting out and she has political speak down, deflect, deflect, deflect. She will go far in the D.C. swamp and all Americans will be poorer for her efforts.

Why make her pay for anything; when the GOP hasn’t paid for anything; or, supported a Tax Increase in 45 years. GOP ran up. huge deficits in promoting two unnecessary Wars that haven’t been paid for. The Cost of those Wars approximates $6 Trillion Dollars. Further; the GOP’s two Tax Cuts for the Rich; robbed Treasury of another $8.6 Trillion. Trump’s Phony War against the Pandemic has added another $4 Trillion to the National Debt. Two Parties can play that game! GOP has set the Standard; and, AOC, just borrowing a page from their playbook. What’s good for the Goose . . . is good for the Gander.

Trump’s American Pandemic wiped out all of the puny jobs that were created under both Trump and Obama. Further; Trump’s Recession – Depression has wiped out the equivalency of all of U.S.’s Growth in GDP since 2005.
