It is obvious that the leftist establishment is threatened by Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), who recently announced that she is running for president in 2020. Since she is the only sane Democrat in the whole race and potential primary, the wacky left cannot have her in the mix. While she is the female Bernie Sanders on domestic affairs, she is a non-interventionist on foreign policies.
As ECN wrote over the weekend:
Gabbard appears to be the only anti-war official in the Democratic Party, calling out the perpetual regime changes, urging withdrawal from Syria, and typically questioning the official line from the establishment. She has even refrained from adopting the generic NPC-like view on President Donald Trump and Russia.
It hadn’t even been 24 hours before the media ramped up their attacks on Gabbard, referring to as a “right wing lunatic,” a “Putin puppet,” and an “Assad agent” (SEE: PUTIN PUPPET: Media already attacking Tulsi Gabbard).
Well, after some of these latest tweets, Gabbard will soon be described as an Islamophobe and white nationalist.
Mehdi Hasan, a columnist for The Intercept and Al Jazeera host, tweeted:
And Gabbard has also been endorsed/praised by David Duke, Richard Spencer and Steve Bannon. Yes, I’m well aware that she has repudiated that support – but ask yourself this: Why is it that top white nationalists are so keen on Tulsi Gabbard and her presidential run? Why?

In short, even if you put the complex Syria conflict and her dodgy positions on Syria to 1 side (& I’m no fan of her Syria positions!), even *without* Syria, she has many questions to answer about her very hawkish, right-wing, Islamophobic foreign policy positions.

It is ridiculous to suggest that the policies and positions you support are wrong because an odious group of individuals support them, too. We all want clean water, including socialists and communists, but does that make the desire for great water evil?
That said, how long until she is outright accused of being a white supremacist because she doesn’t accept government talking points on Syria and the rest of the country’s foreign policy in the Middle East?

Was asked in a debate who I could work with across the aisle (I’m a Libertarian so everyone is across the aisle) and I said Congresswomen Gabbard because of her foreign policy stance. Based on all the criticism from the press I stand by my answer even more.
