News Story of the Day: Senator Cory “Spartacus” “Rule Breaker” Booker (D-NJ) is unsurprisingly running for president in 2020.
According to reports, Senator Booker is mustering up support in Washington ahead of his official announcement. He will make the announcement on Friday, promising that he will not take any campaign donations from federal lobbyists or corporate PACs.
“The lines that divide us are nowhere near as strong as the ties that bind us. When we join together and work together – we will rise together.”
He joins Tulsi Gabbard, Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, Juan Castro, and Elizabeth Warren in the growing 2020 field. Who’s next?
Chart of the Day: January has already come and gone, and it was a great month for the S&P 500, which recorded its best January ever.
Illustration of the Day: Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has officially become a meme. Her vacuous polemics have made her a laughing stock, but she is able to get away with it because she uses the politically correct, social justice buzzwords.
Here is one of those memes courtesy of Ocasio Memes:
Quote of the Day: Twitter, political discourse, and cable news are cesspools. Everyone is giving asinine hot takes, everyone is saying things that just aren’t so, and conspiracy theories pervade the airwaves. When the likes of Max Boot and Chris Cuomo speak, two William F. Buckley quotes come to mind:
I would like to take you seriously, but to do so would affront your intelligence.
I won’t insult your intelligence by suggesting that you really believe what you just said.
Tweet of the Day: Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) put out an odd tweet comparing white male dollars to minority dollars. But Christina Hoff Summers wasn’t having any of it, pointing out the obvious: what about Asian male dollars?
Asian men earn more than everyone—including white men. Why leave them out of your tweet? pic.twitter.com/3Zv9vSwIJV

Video of the Day: If you’re unfamiliar with Canadian politics, Member of Parliament Maxime Bernier quit the Conservative Party to form the People’s Party of Canada, an entity that strives to be the true conservative alternative to what he calls the LibCon Party. If you have seen Andrew Scheer in action, then you’d understand. Surprisingly, Bernie appeared on Dave Rubin’s program, and it was a great discussion.
