This week, the national debt his a new record high of $22 trillion, according to the Treasury Department. This represents approximately $66,000 for every person in the country.
So far, under President Donald Trump’s watch, the national debt has climbed $20 trillion – and counting. You can expect it to top $23 trillion in the next 12 to 18 months because the budget deficit is projected to be nearly $1 trillion once again.
Neither the president nor the Democrats have a plan to rein in federal spending and slash the debt, which will only worsen as interest rates gradually increase.
Before you know it, talk of insolvency will be on the table in the future, especially with $120 trillion – and counting – in unfunded liabilities and expenditures.
