It definitely isn’t a renter’s market in New York City, or even a buyer’s market. Unless you are a Wall Street kingpin, a politician, or someone who inherited a lot of money, it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to live in The City That Never Sleeps.
If you’re a property owner, you’re loving life.
Just take a gander at these statistics from February:
– The median rent rose 4.1% from the previous year to $3,297.
– Landlords offered fewer incentives for the second straight month.
– New signings slipped for the fourth consecutive month as landlords got more people to stay.
– The vacancy rate fell from 2.29 percent to 1.84 percent.
So, where should you live? Soho and Tribeca are the most expensive with a median rent of $5,695. The cheapest neighborhood is Washington Heights with a median of $2,250.
Is it worth it? NYC is still one of the most beautiful cities in the world, yet it is infested with leftists who want to tax, spend, and control.
