During the 2016 election campaign, the mainstream media and left-leaning politicians were pearl-clutching whenever someone had included the phrase “take back our country” in their statements. To paranoid, anti-reality (have to take that phrase from Tom Woods) folks, this was a dog whistle for racism and white supremacy, though it just meant to seize power back from The Swamp.
The left would cry anytime President Donald Trump said it and suggested it was proof that Trump is a certified member of the Ku Klux Klan.
Well, their tune has changed and it is now apparently fine to say “take back our country.”
