Here is another reason why President Donald Trump’s pick to be vice president was a mistake.
Speaking to the 2019 West Point graduating class, Vice President Mike Pence told the graduates that “it is a virtual certainty you will fight on a battlefield.” He listed Afghanistan and Iraq has potential countries these graduates could wage battle, or they could join the battle in Europe against supposed Russian aggression (it’s NATO that is encroaching on its border).
It is a virtual certainty that you will fight on a battlefield for America at some point in your life. You will lead soldiers in combat. It will happen.
Some of you will join the fight against radical Islamic terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Some of you will join the fight on the Korean Peninsula and in the Indo-Pacific, where North Korea continues to threaten the peace, and an increasingly militarized China challenges our presence in the region.
Some of you will join the fight in Europe, where an aggressive Russia seeks to redraw international boundaries by force. And some of you may even be called upon to serve in this hemisphere.
And when that day comes, I know you will move to the sound of the guns and do your duty, and you will fight, and you will win. The American people expect nothing less.
So, wherever you’re called, I urge you to take what you learned here and put it into practice. Put your armor on, so that when — not if — that day comes, you’ll be able to stand your ground.
A better speech would have been: “We will fight to ensure you will not fight in senseless regime change wars that cost lives and money.”
This is such a frightening and disgusting speech.
Here is the part of his 25-minute oration:
There is a great clip from the superb picture “The Best Years of Our Lives,” starring Dana Andrews and Fredric March, that was posted on Target Liberty. A man lost his hands “for what?”

When are the American people going to wake up??? I retired from the USAF in 1995 and the DoD budget was 480 Billion dollars, adjusted for inflation in 2018 dollars. Why the hell are we spending 720 Billion dollars today??? The Military Industrial Complex that President Dwight Eisenhower, warned the USA about, is alive and killing people in record numbers, as that is all they know how to do.
