News Story of the Day: The United States economy enjoyed another strong month of jobs gains.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that the U.S. created 224,000 jobs in June, up from the previous month’s 74,000. The market had expected 170,000 jobs.
The unemployment rate edged up from 3.6 percent to 3.7%, mainly because 300,000 people entered the workforce. This is still at a near 50-year low.
Nearly every sector saw gains:
– Education and health services (61,000)
– Professional and business services (51,000)
– Government (33,000)
– Transportation and warehousing (23,900)
– Construction (21,000)
– Manufacturing (17,000)
In the first half of 2019, the U.S. economy has averaged 172,000 new jobs each month.
Chart of the Day: How did the top candidates’ supporters rate the other presidential contenders? Ostensibly, the lowest-scored thing in the Democratic Party was Beto O’Rourke.
Illustration of the Day: With the Democrats planning to stimulate the U.S. economy with more government and central banks around the world reversing normalization policies, this meme would be appropriate:
Quote of the Day: The U.S. trade deficit with China rose nine percent in May, according to the latest data. Everyone is viewing this as a negative, but why does it really matter? Murray Rothbard had a great take on “the nonproblem of the trade deficit.”
The alleged “deficit” was paid for by foreigners investing the equivalent amount of money in American dollars: in real estate, capital goods, US securities, and bank accounts.
In effect, in the last couple of years, foreigners have been investing enough of their own funds in dollars to keep the dollar high, enabling us to purchase cheap imports. Instead of worrying and complaining about this development, we should rejoice that foreign investors are willing to finance our cheap imports.
If our anointed saviors only viewed the deficit the same way!
Tweet of the Day: This is one of the best satirical accounts on Twitter. This tweet further proves it:
TO ALL MY DISCIPLES.
I know calling everyone a Nazi hasn’t worked out so well for us over the past few years.
But that just shows that we need to do it twice as much.
From now on, if someone hasn’t retweeted the hashtag #NotANazi, we have to assume they’re definitely a Nazi.

Video of the Day: It has been a week since Antifa sent one journalist and a couple of seniors to the hospital. Despite their violent antics, the mainstream media keep coming to the defense of the domestic terrorist organization. Here is a montage of the press coming to the defense of Antifa:
