Two-time presidential candidate and self-made billionaire, Ross Perot, passed away at the age of 89, following a five-month battle with leukemia.
Perot was an important part of the 1992 election, but then he faded away into the background in ’96 because both parties colluded to ensure that he would not be included in the debates and the media did not give him substantial coverage.
Despite not winning, Perot will always be remembered for being ahead of his time and taking on the two-party system.
While he wasn’t perfect on economics, he was still entertaining and wanted to balance the budget and reform entitlements. He was saying stuff that most mainstream folks were ignoring (national debt, interest on the debt and Social Security going bust).
