How many times have anchors, journalists, and pundits gotten it wrong in the age of President Donald Trump? From pearl-clutching to outright fake news, the mainstream media is losing credibility – and fast.
The latest example is MSNBC and Lawrence O’Donnell.
He claimed earlier this week that a “single source close to Deutsche Bank” told him that the president’s loan documents had co-signers. And who were those co-signers? Russian oligarchs!
Of course.
O’Donnell then added this: “The source close to Deutsche Bank says that the co-signers of Donald Trump’s Deutsche Bank loans are Russian billionaires close to Vladimir Putin.”
Yeah, well, a bank clerk whose uncle works at the insurance wing of TD Bank who has a friend who works in Europe who knows a cab driver who had a fare from the European Central Bank told ECN that there are bloodsucking lizards ruling the universe.
Well, like interdimensional bloodsucking lizards, it turned out to be fake news.
The MSNBC personality retracted the story.
