What the heck is happening now with U.S.-China trade negotiations? They appeared to be going well after both sides made concessions (SEE:Random Friday: Tariffs, the Conscientious Objector, CNN doxxes a baby). But now there might have been a setback.
According to Reuters, Chinese officials unexpectedly canceled plans visits to farms in Montana and Nebraska following two days of low-level talks in Washington.
Officials were ostensibly going to meet American farmers as an act of goodwill, but then they quickly returned to China sooner than originally planned.
The Chinese embassy and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) have not responded to the reports.
This comes as the White House removed tariffs on 100s of Chinese products and Beijing purchased more pork and soybeans.
