Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) has been one of the few sane voices in the Democratic Party when it comes to foreign policy, the mainstream media, and the party leadership. Despite opposing President Donald Trump, she slammed the impeachment inquiry, warning about how it would further polarize the country.
Last week, the 2020 presidential candidate joined all but two of her fellow House Democrats in launching an impeachment inquiry against President Trump.
But why? How could she flip on this issue just days after saying she opposes it?
She spoke with the Fox Business Network to explain her reasoning:
“To get the facts. To get the information. There were serious questions and concerns being raised. The American people deserve to get some answers to those questions so we can bring out into broad daylight what exactly happened, gather this information – understanding that the vote that took place was a vote for more transparency as this inquiry continues.”
Fair enough. But the American people already have the transcript. She should realize that this is a dog and pony show to avoid everyone seeing just how bad the 2020 field of candidates are.
This inquiry is only there to cast a shadow over the president’s re-election campaign.
