Are you better off now than you were four years ago? That question has been asked every election cycle by both candidates.
With President Donald Trump’s first term winding down, it is time to ask that question again: Are you better off than before Trump came into office?
A new poll asked this question and the results show, once again, the division of the country. We are all watching two separate films on the same screen.
According to a survey of likely voters conducted by The Financial Times and the Peter G Peterson Foundation, 31 percent of Americans say they are worse off now than when Trump became president and 35 percent say they are better off.
Who knows if you can even take such a survey seriously. For many of the president’s detractors, they will say anything to portray him in a negative light. For many of the president’s supporters, they will say anything to portray him in a positive light.
Just take a gander at this finding: 45 percent say Trump’s economic policies have helped the U.S. economy, compared with 45 percent who say his policies have not helped.
Who knows what the true story is?
