What another interesting day on the stock market. Up, down, and up.
Everything in the market recovered on Tuesday after being slaughtered on Black Monday. Of course, it just couldn’t be a normal dead cat bounce. It surged 1,000 points and then it wiped out all the gains, and then it surged again.
So, here are the numbers:
– Dow Jones: +581 points to 24,431.
– S&P 500: +2.72 percent to 2,821.
– Nasdaq: +2.8 percent to 8,173.
– U.S. crude oil: +10.15 percent to over $34.
– 10-year Treasury note: 0.735 percent.
The rebound occurred on hopes that President Donald Trump and Republicans will put forward a payroll tax cut and wage relief. Investors are also holding out hope that OPEC will continue negotiations.
Wednesday should be an interesting day for financial markets.
