It is evident that George Floyd’s death commands justice. The shocking and disturbing video of his forceful arrest should lead to the police being arrested and sentenced to prison without parole.
But the courts will decide the officers’ fate.
That said, on Wednesday night, rioters took to the streets and a nearby Target and looted the store. Nothing shows justice for a man’s unnecessary death than by stealing 4K HD televisions! Low-income housing was destroyed, private property was set on fire, and ATMs were broken into.
The looting and riots had nothing to do with Floyd’s death. Instead, the tragedy was used as an excuse to act like a bunch of hooligans.
That said, Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) tried to tie Floyd’s death to President Donald Trump.
Yep. It was President Trump’s knee that was lodged into the man’s neck for seven minutes.
Here is what she said to TMZ Live:
“My first thought was: ‘Not again, not one more killing,’ And I’m reflecting on all of the killings of young black men, in particular, but of course black women, too — at the hands of the police and at the hands of these white supremacists.
And I’m thinking about the way that the president conducts himself. In a way he’s dog-whistling, and I think that they’re feeling that they can get away with this kind of treatment.”
Uh-huh. So by that logic, Ferguson was former President Barack Obama’s fault, too, right?
