Every generation or so, globalists will conspire to devise a scheme masked as a benevolent campaign to rescue humanity from the tolling of the bell. Climate change or the coronavirus – each crusade initiated by the socialist left ensures the population is in perpetual fear of whatever it is they vow will imminently eviscerate civilization. The global government acolytes’ ambitions are far more malignant than what they will reveal, choosing to exploit uncertainty, ignorance, and trust in the experts to advance the statist agenda. The eminent 20th-century author H.L. Mencken summarized the globalists’ desires when he wrote, “The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.”
#BuildBackBetter
International leaders are preparing for the post-coronavirus world with a Great Reset. The global powers are participating in coordinated messaging ahead of next year’s World Economic Forum (WEF), a powwow of the rich and famous in Davos, Switzerland. Professor Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, believes the COVID-19 pandemic “represents a rare but narrow window of opportunity to reflect, reimagine, and reset our world.” In other words, never let a crisis go to waste if you believe that the power brokers are the omnipotent Übermensch.
Is it a coincidence that prominent figures worldwide are using the term “build back better”?
A central theme behind former Vice President Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign is to build back better as he and his running mate, Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), “battle for the soul of the nation” and vanquish the iniquitous forces for the sake of the next generation. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has become a signatory of this trope, randomly pledging to make the United Kingdom “the world leader in low-cost clean power generation.” Julie Payette, the governor general of Canada, recently outlined the direction and objectives of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government. It, too, involved this soundbite.
The phrase is not original, as it can be found inside the United Nations General Assembly framework. In March 2015, then-Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and a Japanese delegation proposed “build back better” as an idea to be used by the international body. The concept is to recover from disaster and prepare for the future. This might seem like benign messaging to inspire the populace, but anyone skeptical of the state should be wary of any institution promising an elixir of life.
All you need to do is study the last 120 years to see what happens when we put our faith in the state to ascend from the depths of despair and the ashes of destitution.
Beneath The Black Veil
Following the Panic of 1907, an ensemble cast of bankers and financiers proposed creating a central bank. Within a few years, the Federal Reserve was established to bail out Wall Street through a variety of officious schemes, from corporate bond-buying to artificially low interest rates.
During the Great Depression, disciples of John Maynard Keynes salivated at the prospect of introducing a diverse array of interventionist policies that permanently changed the fabric of the U.S. economy.
After the end of the Second World War, the heads of the planet’s most powerful countries crafted the Bretton Woods System, an agreement that mandated a currency peg to the U.S. dollar and was implemented until the 1970s. This resulted in the greenback becoming the god-emperor of currencies, allowing Washington to reign supreme in the global economy and impose its will on any nation that did not bow to U.S. interests.
In the immediate aftermath of the tragic September 11 terrorist attacks, there was a bipartisan approach to eviscerate citizens’ liberties and place each American’s face under a boot forever. The endeavor was to sacrifice liberty for security.
Throughout the worst financial crisis since the 1930s, the federal government and the Eccles Building embarked upon an experiment to see how far the neo-Keynesian mechanisms could go. From excessive money-printing to astronomical spending, the Swamp monsters, led by then-Fed Chair Ben Bernanke, prepared the nation for what is occurring today.
And then there is COVID-19. When the virus outbreak first hit the United States’ shores, plenty of people were unsure about its severity. This uncertainty led to a two-party blitzkrieg on Americans’ civil liberties and financial prosperity. What was supposed to be 15 days under house arrest metastasized into hiding in Joe Biden’s basement until a vaccine is developed. Even with a magic potion, the Americans may not be permitted to absquatulate from their cells until Dr. Anthony Fauci gives the nod of approval.
Legendary economist Ludwig von Mises wrote in Omnipotent Government, “There is no more dangerous menace to civilization than a government of incompetent, corrupt, or vile men. The worst evils which mankind ever had to endure were inflicted by bad governments. The state can be and has often been in the course of history the main source of mischief and disaster.”
The public fails to learn from history and runs into the arms of its oppressors. Little by little, civil liberties, economic freedom, and America’s values are stripped away to appease the men behind the curtain.
Statolatry
The Great Reset is more about the deification of the state and the exacerbation of socialist dogma. Alliterative messaging, pretty young faces, and identifying opponents as Nazis – these tactics are meant to nudge the public to worship at the altar of the state and spur our support of the globalists’ pet projects. If not, you are Literally Hitler™, you are a “covidiot,” and you loathe the impecunious. Whether it is the mini-Maos on city streets or the public policy cronyists within the corridors of power, statolatry is never about the cause of freedom and the advancement of the pursuit of happiness. It is only one objective: Do what we say because we know better.
