President Joe Biden has a message for the American people.
For any gun-owning individual who thinks he or she can take on the U.S. government in the face of tyranny, think again. Why? You’ll need “F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons” to defeat the government.
“The Second Amendment from the day it was passed, limited the type of people who could own a gun and what type of weapon you could own. You couldn’t buy a cannon. [Those who] say the blood of the, the blood of patriots, you know, and all this stuff about how we’re going to have to move against the government,” he said.
“Well, the tree of liberty is not [watered with] the blood of patriots, what’s happened is that there never been, if you want, if you think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons. The point is that there’s always been the ability to limit, rationally limit, the type of weapon that can be owned, and who can own it.”
Yeesh.
But many Democrats have made similar claims in the past, including Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who said last year that citizens need a nuke to take on the government.
But while this messaging is crazy, it is devoid of history. Iraq is a perfect example. The U.S. could not successfully occupy Baghdad without rebels fighting back, despite the military might of America and its allies.
Joe na maybe says
Sounds like he implied he would nuke American citizens

This comment should be replayed at every trial related to the January 6 uprising in Washington, DC. President Bite-Me has stated, whether he realizes it or not (probably not), that anyone who was present in DC on that fateful day was not trying to overthrow the US Government, and such a statement encompasses the entirety of the Executive Branch of the government.
OK, so he wasn’t President that day. But the events of that day confirmed that he would be the next President, and his statement took place while he was President. Therefore, it is an official statement on behalf of his department/branch of the government.
