President Joe Biden’s interview with “60 Minutes” is the gift that keeps on giving.
In one part of the interview, he was asked about Asia.
Biden confirmed that U.S. Armed Forces would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion.
He reiterated this commitment in the interview.
What is even more interesting is that a White House official told the program that U.S. policy on Taiwan has not changed, meaning that Biden went off script.
Here is the clip:
President Biden tells 60 Minutes that U.S. men and women would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion. However, after our interview, a White House official told us that U.S. policy on Taiwan has not changed. https://t.co/ANg54LifSH pic.twitter.com/V5qjoqF36T

This is huge for a couple of reasons.
First, it contradicts the official U.S. policy that has been uttered for months by everyone in Washington.
Second, who is the one in the administration that keeps correcting the president?
