What do the conservative kids say these days?
Go woke. Go broke.
Since Bud Light chose to have delusional transgender star Dylan Mulvaney as the face of its brand for whatever reason, the backlash has been bigger than what occurred in the NFL a few years ago.
According to new data from Beer Business Daily, Bud Light cases plunged 21 percent for the week ending April 15, down 6.5 volume share points.
There had been a lot of anecdotal evidence, so this is the first time that hard evidence shows this backfired spectacularly on this division of the company.
That said, shares in Anheuser-Busch, which owns the Bud Light brand, climbed 0.5 percent on Tuesday to nearly $66. In fact, year-to-date, the stock is up more than 11 percent.
The next second-quarter corporate earnings report should be a must-watch.
